Week #7 Reflection: Immeasurably More
Verse to memorize
“To God be glory and praise forever.” (Ephesians 3)
Passage
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21)
Questions
1. St. Paul writes these words to the church in Ephesus while in prison. What would be your attitude if you were imprisoned? What is the attitude of St. Paul?
2. Although this letter is written to the church in Ephesus, it is also written to each of us. What do you think it means to be “rooted and established in love”?
3. “All the fullness of God” dwells in Jesus, and when we receive Him in the Eucharist, we receive “all the fullness of God”. This is such a remarkable Truth! What do you think “all the fullness of God” means? The next time you are preparing to receive communion, meditate on these verses and remember that the Eucharist is the very life of Christ, His Real Presence – all the fullness of God – that we can receive so that we become more and more like Him – “filled to the measure of all the fullness of God”.
4. God asks us to come to Him – to ask, seek and knock – to pray with expectation for the “immeasurably more” He has in store for each of us. Rather than limiting and boxing God in, let’s bring to Him those areas that seem “impossible” and give them to Him. He is able to do “immeasurably more” through the power at work within us. Let’s commit to opening our hearts and hands to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to work through us, for His glory.

Preguntas para reflexionar:
1. San Pablo escribe una de sus cartas a los Efesios estando en prisión. ¿Cuál crees que sería tu actitud si estuviese encarcelado(a)? ¿Cuál es la actitud que toma San Pablo?
2. Aunque esta carta fué escrita para la Iglesia en Éfeso, también es dirigida a cada uno de nosotros hoy. ¿Qué significado tiene para ti el estar “arraigados y cimentados en el amor”?
3. “La plenitud de Dios” vive en Jesús, y cuando lo recibimos en la Eucaristía, recibimos a Dios mismo en toda su totalidad. ¡Esta es una realidad extraordinaria! Es Nuestra Verdad. Para ti, ¿qué significa “la plenitud de Dios?” La próxima vez que recibas la Santa Comunión, medita sobre estas palabras y recuerda que en la Eucaristía encuentras a Jesús Vivo, Su Presencia Real, y a Dios mismo en plenitud. Lo recibimos con el fin de ser cada día más como Él y “llenarnos hasta la medida de toda la plenitud de Dios.”
4. Dios nos pide que vayamos a Él, que pidamos, que toquemos a Su puerta – que oremos con la plena confianza de que Él ya tiene “muchísimo más” reservado para cada uno de nosotros. En vez de ponerle limites, llevémosle y ofrezcámosle a Él esas cosas que parecen imposibles. Dios es capaz de hacer lo incalculable, “todo mucho más abundantemente de lo que pedimos o entendemos, a según el poder que obra en nosotros.” Hagamos un compromiso de abrir nuestros corazones al Espíritu Santo para que con su poder infinito pueda obrar en nosotros para su Santa Gloria.
