Week #2 Reflection: Peter Testifying to Jesus at Pentecost
Verse to memorize
“You will show me the path of life.” (Acts 2:28)
Passage
Jesus the Nazarene was a man commended to you by God with mighty deeds, wonders, and signs, which God worked through him in your midst, as you yourselves know. This man, delivered up by the set plan and foreknowledge of God, you killed, using lawless men to crucify him. But God raised him up, releasing him from the throes of death, because it was impossible for him to be held by it. For David says of him:
‘I saw the Lord ever before me, with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed. Therefore my heart has been glad and my tongue has exulted; my flesh, too, will dwell in hope, because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld, nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ (Acts 2:22 – 28)
Questions
1. Peter is speaking to the “scoffers” from last week’s reflection scripture – as you live out your faith, do you have “scoffers” in your own life? How do you react to those who make fun of you or try to discourage your faith?
2. 53 days earlier, Peter had denied Jesus three times as he was arrested, tried and crucified. Now Peter is boldly proclaiming the good news of the Gospel. What do you think has created this total transformation in Peter?
3. Think about the moments when you have felt peace, when your heart has been “glad”. Would you like to “dwell in hope”? Find an opportunity as a family to go to adoration this week, and find rest and peace in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Listen closely to Jesus – He wants to speak to your heart!

Preguntas para reflexionar:
1. Hoy Pedro le habla a aquellos que se burlaban de los discípulos en la escritura y reflexión de la semana pasada. Al vivir tu propio camino de fé, encuentras ese mismo tipo de personas burlonas en tu vida? Cómo reaccionas a aquellos que se ríen de ti, o que tratan de desmotivarte a seguir tu fé?
2. En los previos 53 días, Pedro había negado a Jesús tres veces, mientras lo arrestaban, juzgaban, y crucificaban. Ahora, Pedro valientemente proclama la Buena Nueva del Evangelio. Qué crees que ha creado ésta total transformación en Pedro?
3. Piensa en aquellos momentos en los que sientes paz y alegría en tu corazón. Te gustaría vivir o “morar en la esperanza”? Busca una oportunidad para visitar y adorar el Santísimo Sacramento en familia. Juntos encontrarán esa paz y descanso en la Presencia Real de Jesús en la Eucaristía. Escucha atentamente a Jesús – Él desea hablarle a tu corazón!
